Seeds are small, but seeds are powerful. Your gifts are no different. They may be dormant but they can be activated whereby you can manifest greatness and fulfill your dreams! You don't have to be like everyone else. Just be you! Be the happiest most self-aware you there can be. Become aware of and acknowledge your gifts, talents and abilities. Remove the word "only" from your vocabulary. Stop focusing on what you don't have and start focusing on what you do have. God wants to get in your little and make it more than enough. Colonel Sanders had an ability to make fried chicken, which most mothers can do. Yet because he gave attention to his gift, today KFC is a multi-million dollar franchise. Most people don't have any idea where Kentucky is on a map. Cooking chicken however put KFC and Colonel Sanders on the map on a worldwide scale. Danny DeVito was too short in the minds of many to make it as an actor in Hollywood. Nevertheless he paid attention to his gift to entertain and pushed past the naysayers to become a very successful and famous actor. Cindy Crawford's small mole on her face was enough to ruin her hopes to be a model said some people. Yet it was that very thing that became her trademark and differentiated her from all the other models. DL Moody failed his church's course on the Bible and was excommunicated. Yet DL did not give up. This uneducated shoe salesman went on to found a Bible school of his own and to become the most popular evangelist of his day. Today Moody Bible Institute is one of the most respected theological seminaries in the country. What caused DL to succeed was his ability to relate to people and to put things in the language of the commmon man. You currently may seem far away from your desired career, relationship and place in life. Nevertheless as you give atention to your own seeds of greatness within, you will begin to blossom into your dreams When you begin to give attention to the gifts God has given you, they will begin to blossom for you. Sometimes the very thing we resist the most is the very thing designed by God to get us where we want to go. Yet the more we resist it the more we frustrate the grace of God in us. Though Jesus was called to build a ministry to impact the world, He had to start by working on Himself the minister. This training required that he first build tables and chairs as a carpenter. It is like the karate kid who thought he was ready to fight when his master wanted to first have him paint fences and buff cars, while perfecting a particular technique by reason of use. He nearly walked away from his training thinking it to be a distraction and detour from his intended destiny. Sometimes we need to settle into what life's circumstances may be bringinjg us as the handiwork of God may be in progress. Preparation time is not lost time. Plus it is during these seasons of using our small gifts which are still in seed form that the greater gifts ultimately emerge and catapult us to greatness beyond our wildest dreams! |
